Automakers usually tend to launch their new models in major auto shows but Nissan decided to buck this trend and reveal the updated 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo at Nissan’s annual ZDayZ event in North Carolina, USA – an event for Z faithful.
Nissan has recently made the Nismo brand its top priority and the new Nissan 370Z Nismo has the same styling as seen on other Nismo products. The styling is more aggressive now with LED running lights, Nismo badge and Nismo’s signature red stripe on the new front splitter. There is also a new rear spoiler and redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels.
The interior has also been updated with Recaro bucket seats, a red tachometer, steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and leather and red accents throughout the cabin. A backup camera, navigation and Bose sound system is added to the Tech trim.
There are lots of styling changes in the latest Nismo but the engine stays the same. The 3.7 litre V6 Nissan engine is unchanged and still makes the same 370bhp and 276 lb ft of torque mated to a first for Nismo, a seven speed flappy paddle gearbox. The 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo is expected to hit dealers in July and will be available in a choice of four colours red, black, silver, or white. This car may well be the last hurrah for the 370z as the new Z generation cars are on its way. Sadly, It won’t make its way to UK shores and will only be available in the US market.
