The new XC90 shows a great merge of technology and quality and it is gearing up to take on Audi Q5. Volvo is now working on new S90 to rival the 5-Series of BMW, A6 of Audi, and E-Class of Mercedes. Volvo has previously told that they were working on their S-Series and the main focus in the S-Series is on elegance, styling and performance and its 90 model is mastering every feature. The image we have for you, shows that the new S90 has most basic features borrowed from present S80, but it has stylish front, shaped headlights and horizontal T-LEDs.

It is exclusively using the same SPA Platform, which was first seen on the XC90 SUV that means it will get the power from any of the Drive-e Volvo engines, a series of four cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

The D4 version used by the S60 and V40 models and it is capable of generating 180bhp of power while keeping within the limits of EU standards for carbon emissions. It has some surprisingly good carbon emissions of 99g/km. It is far good than any of the rivals including 5-Series. BMW 5-Series engine can deliver 181 bhp of power at 520d and emits 114g/km of carbon emissions. Audi’s A6 which is entitled as flagship, lags far behind the Volvo S90.

When emissions are everything in any class, Volvo S90 has a big advantage over any other luxury vehicle in the class. Volvo says that they are also working on a plug-in Hybrid version which will emit only 50g/km. The build quality is very best and the new S90 can compete any German rivals with no worries at all. We are expecting to see it in 2016 and prices will start at somewhere around £30,000.
