Mercedes has revealed more details and official prices of the Mercedes-AMG C63 super-saloon and estate after its debut at the Paris Motor Show. The new car is on sale now for a small premium over its predecessor, with deliveries starting in Spring 2015.
The basic C63 saloon and estate will churn out 469bhp and 650Nm of torque from its 4.0-litre Biturbo V8. This easily beats the BMW M3 which has 425bhp and 550Nm. The flagship ‘S’ spec has 503bhp and 700Nm of torque, further separating Mercedes and BMW. However, the 0-62mph times are nearly the same as BMW, at 4.1 seconds for the basic model and 4.0 seconds for the ‘S’.
The standard saloon will set you back £59,795 whereas the estate has a £1,200 premium. The faster ‘S’ model prices start from £66,545. The standard accessories include AMG electric memory sports seats and wheel, a locking rear diff, dynamic engine mounts, COMAND infotainment system and 18-inch AMG alloys.
There will be a special edition C63 on sale as well, badged as ‘Edition 1’. The Edition 1 will cost £73,500 in saloon shape and £74,700 for the estate. The exterior features special and unique 19-inch AMG red-detailed alloy wheels. The chrome trim has also been replaced by AMG graphics and black aluminium. The rear features a contrasting black spoiler.
The Edition 1 adds quilted black Nappa leather with red stitching throughout, panoramic electric glass sunroof, red carbon fibre trim on the centre console, LED Intelligent Light System, a 590WBurmester surround sound system and a keyless start.
The new model is more powerful than its predecessor; the new C63’s twin-turbocharged is V8 nearly a third more efficient. The standard car gives 34.5mpg in saloon form and 33.6mpg for the estate. Mercedes has also brought down CO2 emissions at 192g/km for the saloon and 196g/km for the estate. Top speed is limited to 155mph in all models. The latest Mercedes-AMG C63 is on sale now with deliveries starting next Spring.
