CITROEN has crafted the C4 better than the majority of its own rivals. It’s been more than five years since the world has seen any updated C4. All new C4 has received some special attention from CITROEN and shows the signs of some deep interest for we now see a beautiful blend of futuristic technology with sleek design and inspiring style. There are a few models scheduled to be launched in the next couple of years and with this upgrade, the new C4 is making sure to keep its place in the market when those models hit the market.
The C4 is expected to become more popular in the segment because of new features and strength of competing the likes of the Golf and the Focus. The looks of it are largely the same as of the previous one but boasts a number of features including refined LED headlights. It offers updated and refreshed athletic appearance as a trademark of the C4.
For the 2015 C4, CITROEN has boosted up a bunch of engine options from diesel to petrol. If we take the petrol, the engine line-up starts from a three-cylinder engine with PureTech 110. It generates 110 horsepower and 151 Lb-Ft of torque. According to the stats, all refreshed PureTech 110 engine returns the fuel economy of 50mpg on average. Second in the list of petrol engines comes another powerful three-cylinder engine, called PureTech 130. It generates 130 horsepower and 170 Lb-Ft of torque. However, stated fuel economy of PureTech 130 is 49mpg on average, almost same as PureTech 110 but with higher power outputs.
Diesel engine line-up consists of three CITROEN BlueHDi engines. Starting from BlueHDi 100, which generates 99 horsepower and 187 Lb-Ft of torque while returns the fuel economy of almost double than its petrol fellow. Next in the engine line-up comes BlueHDi 120, which delivers 120 horsepower and 221 Lb-Ft of torque. It returns the fuel economy of 65 mpg on average.
Other updates include chrome lining on the front and rear bumpers, 17-inch Miami alloys, 3D Effect LED lights, five doors and a series of different colours from red to grey.
Interior is very stylish with new upholstery, impressively cosy front seats, a panoramic sunroof and cabin goodies. Infotainment system and equipment shows a big game of technology with hands-free access and start-up system, seven-inch touchscreen to control the functionality of Hill Start Assist, Intelligent Traction Control, a Blind Spot Monitoring system, and the Citroen Connect Box.
All these state of the art features make the C4 best contender for the hatchback market and strong rival for the likes Golf Focus and Fiesta.
