The best selling hatchback from Nissan is back. The changes are not that radical but they do give the car a more complete feel all-round. The new 1.2 litre Nissan engine is energetic but smooth and matches Juke’s frisky character. Nissan Juke invented the compact crossover segment when it was launched in 2010 and it was an immediate success, with over 500,000 worldwide sales to date.
Nissan has not changed the winning formula for its new model too much however, noticeable changes include redesigned headlamps and daytime running LED lights. The visual drama has new colours palettes and alloy wheel designs, as well as optional coloured exterior and interior inserts.
The new Nissan Juke also has extended personalisation options available on the car. The biggest change to the Juke is the addition of a new 1.2 litre DIG-T petrol turbo. The engine of choice among buyers has been the larger 1.6-litre petrol but the downsized turbo motor promises better performance and fuel economy, plus more fun.
The new engine has been taken from the Qashqai range but it fits Jukes character more. The economy stands at 47.1mpg which is a lot for this class. In comparison Renault Captur returns an even more impressive 52.3mpg. However, the Juke has quick power delivery and is calm on the road. It certainly feels faster than its claimed 10.8-second 0-62mph sprint time.
The revamped Juke has a loyal following due to its many qualities it has held on to such as prominent headlight design, on the top of the bonnet, acts as an alignment aid to help you place the Juke where you want it on the road. The steering is light, but accurate and it’s comfortable most of the time.
Nissan has reshaped the boot increasing the load capacity by 40 per cent to 354 litres. High-gloss plastics and soft fabrics give an upmarket feel, while standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, daytime running lights and MP3 compatibility.
